Cleansing at The Well Juicery

Gentle, Nourishing Resets That Support Your Body’s Natural Intelligence.

Cleansing is not about punishment. It is not about starving. It is not about forcing the body to “flush” itself.

At The Well Juicery, cleansing is understood as a temporary shift toward very simple, highly digestible, nutrient-dense nourishment that gives the body space to rest, recalibrate, and redirect energy toward repair and maintenance.

Your body is already equipped with sophisticated detoxification systems — primarily the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, digestive tract, lungs, and skin. A well-designed cleanse does not replace these systems. Instead, it supports them by helping your body to release any unnecessary toxins that have been accumulating in your body.

Think of cleansing as creating an internal environment where your body can do what it already knows how to do, more efficiently.

Why consider a cleanse?

Modern life places a constant load on the body.

  • Highly processed foods.
  • Environmental chemicals.
  • Stress.
  • Inconsistent sleep.
  • Excess sugar and alcohol.

Over time, this load can contribute to sluggish digestion, fatigue, inflammation, brain fog, skin issues, and difficulty maintaining metabolic balance.

  • A short-term juice cleanse can be a helpful tool to: Increase vegetable intake
  • Improve hydration
  • Reduce digestive workload
  • Recalibrate taste preferences
  • Support liver and gut function
  • Create a clean starting point for healthier habits

Many people describe a cleanse as feeling similar to “changing the oil” in a car — not because toxins magically disappear, but because the internal environment becomes cleaner, lighter, and better supported.

What makes our cleanses different

Our cleanses are:

  • Cold-pressed
  • Vegetable-forward
  • Moderate in fruit
  • Low in added sugars
  • Free from preservatives
  • Made fresh in Bozeman

We design our programs around balanced, functional nutrition, not extremes.

This means:

  • Greens for mineral and chlorophyll support
  • Citrus for vitamin C and liver support
  • Roots such as ginger, turmeric, beet, and carrot for circulation and inflammatory balance
  • Limited fruit for palatability without excessive sugar

The goal is nourishment first.

What to expect during a cleanse

 Everybody is different.

Some people feel energized quickly.

Some feel slower initially, then better.

Some notice emotional shifts or mental clarity.

Common experiences can include:

  • Increased hydration
  • Temporary hunger waves
  • Headaches or fogginess in early phases
  • Improved digestion
  • Lighter feeling in the body

These early sensations are often related to shifts in blood sugar regulation, caffeine withdrawal, or changes in digestive workload. We encourage listening closely to your body and resting when needed.

Am I only meant to drink the provided juices?

For best results, we recommend following the cleanse structure as designed. However, you are welcome to include one light, plant-based meal per day if needed, such as:

  • A simple vegetable-based soup
  • A small salad
  • A light smoothie

If you choose to eat, we recommend doing so around midday. Eating earlier allows your body to complete most digestion before evening, when the body naturally shifts toward repair and regeneration.

Filtered water is encouraged throughout the day. Herbal teas (non-caffeinated) are also welcome.

What about coffee or caffeine?

We recommend avoiding caffeine during your cleanse.

Caffeine is a stimulant and mild diuretic. It increases cortisol and adrenaline, which the body interprets as stress signals. During a cleanse, the goal is to emphasize hydration, calm, and parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) activity.

If you regularly consume caffeine, we suggest gradually reducing intake for a few days prior to starting your cleanse to minimize withdrawal symptoms.

After your cleanse, ease caffeine back in slowly.

Will I have more energy?

Most people do.

In the early phase of a cleanse, the body spends less energy on digestion because fiber and heavy foods are reduced. That freed energy can be redirected toward cellular repair, detoxification pathways, and nervous system balance.

Once the body adjusts, many people report: Steadier energy

Improved mental clarity

Reduced afternoon crashes.

This is one of the most commonly reported benefits.

Is there a specific order to drink the juices?

No specific order is required.

General guidelines:

  • Drink a juice or smoothie every 2–3 hours or when hungry.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Finish your last juice or smoothie at least three hours before bedtime if desired.
  • You may drink water or non-caffeinated herbal tea closer to bedtime.

How long should I cleanse?

The ideal length depends on your experience level, lifestyle, and goals. We generally suggest:

1 Day

A gentle introduction. Increases vegetable intake and hydration. Great for beginners.

3 Days

Allows digestion to rest more deeply and supports immune and metabolic reset. Ideal for those wanting more noticeable results.

5 Days

Begins deeper recalibration of digestion, cravings, and inflammatory load.

7 Days

A more comprehensive reset for experienced cleansers with the ability to rest and prioritize recovery.

It is not ideal to cleanse during periods of high stress, heavy travel, or intense obligations.

Preparing for your cleanse

For several days beforehand:

  • Increase fruits and vegetables
  • Reduce processed foods
  • Decrease meat and dairy
  • Reduce or eliminate caffeine
  • Increase water intake

This helps ease the transition and improves the overall experience.

Potential temporary symptoms

During early detoxification phases, some people may experience:

  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Irritability
  • Body aches

These are often temporary and related to metabolic shifts, hydration changes, or caffeine withdrawal.

Rest, hydration, and gentle movement can help.

The benefits many people experience

  • Increased energy
  • Improved digestion
  • Reduced bloating
  • Clearer skin
  • Improved sleep
  • Enhanced mental clarity
  • Better hydration
  • Increased vegetable intake
  • Reduced sugar cravings

Individual results vary.
